When performance on site became a challenge, the customer chose Credence Automation as their trusted actuation partner. The application was facing critical operational issues, including jerky valve movement, incomplete valve closure, and difficulty in manual override operation. These challenges demanded a robust, reliable, and application-focused actuation solution. The Credence team visited the site, studied the operating conditions, and engaged in detailed consultations with the user groups to understand the exact field challenges. Based on this assessment, Credence proposed a pneumatic scotch yoke spring-return actuator solution engineered for dependable performance in critical valve automation applications. The supplied solution includes SIL-certified actuation, fail-close functionality, and easy manual override operation, ensuring safer operation, smoother valve movement, reliable closure, and improved ease of maintenance. These actuators are now successfully mounted on 150 Class trunnion mounted ball valves, fully tested, validated, and ready for dispatch.
