Mechanical / CAD-CAM / Mechatronics Engineering Intern – Product Design – SolidWorks (Actuator Division)

Role Overview
Credence Automation and Control Systems Pvt. Ltd. is seeking passionate and driven Mechanical, CAD-CAM, or Mechatronics Engineering students and graduates to join its Research and Development team in the Actuator Division. The selected intern will work on patented, high-performance actuator and industrial automation systems. The role involves designing mechanical components and assemblies, applying parametric modelling and CAD automation techniques, conducting simulations, supporting prototype development, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Responsibilities
- Design and develop actuator components, parts, and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Create accurate 3D models, engineering drawings, configurations, and design documentation.
- Apply parametric modelling, configuration management, and CAD automation techniques.
- Use design tables, macros, or APIs to improve CAD design efficiency.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles to engineering designs.
- Perform or support mechanical simulations and design validation activities.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, electronics, pneumatic, and other cross-functional engineering teams.
- Participate in prototype development, assembly, testing, and product refinement.
- Evaluate designs for functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and product presentations.
- Assist with product-development, manufacturing, and certification activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD-CAM Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Final-year students are eligible to apply.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering fundamentals, and systems thinking.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Creo, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor, or similar CAD software is acceptable.
- Understanding of 3D part modelling and assembly modelling.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, mechanical simulation, and configuration management.
- Familiarity with CAD automation through design tables, macros, or APIs.
- Exposure to VBA, Python, C++, or another programming or scripting language is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Good analytical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic components is preferred.
- CSWA or CSWP certification is an added advantage.
- Willingness to complete SolidWorks and GD&T training before joining, where required.
